Hi! I’m Elaine Sun, the founder of Sunshine Speech. When I was seven years old, I received 1:1 speech therapy for articulation from a wonderful, kind and patient therapist. She not only made speech fun,  but made a tremendous difference in my ability to communicate with others. I wanted to become a become a pediatric speech pathologist to make a difference in the lives of other kids, just like how she did for me. Shortly after graduating from University of California, Davis I received my speech pathology Masters from California State University, East Bay in 2017 and have been practicing as a CCC-SLP ever since. 

I’ve worked in public schools since 2013, spending the first four years as a special education paraeducator before becoming a speech pathologist. I have extensive experience building language and fluency skills of the school-aged population. My goal as an educator has always been to focus on the individual, and to craft personalized lessons that ensured my student’s progress.

In the wake of the pandemic, I learned first hand that effective and efficient speech tele-therapy can be achieved. I created Sunshine Speech to offer my services to families who otherwise are too busy, uninsured and/or could not afford the astronomical cost of traditional private practice.
